The Grow a Garden mutations list below covers more than 150 crop mutations, from Wet at 2x up to Astral at 365x, with the sell-value multiplier, the trigger, and the fusion recipe for each one. Short version: the best mutation you can realistically farm is a 240x fusion (Cosmic or Abyssal), the best single weather mutation is Celestial at 120x, and mutations stack additively inside a formula, not by multiplying everything together. That last point is where most guides go wrong, so it gets its own section.

Which Grow a Garden Mutations Matter Most? (Quick Reference)
If you only read one table, read this one. These are the mutations that decide most of your crop value in practice.

| Rainbow | 50x | About 0.1% chance as a crop grows; Rainbow fertilizer | Rare luck |
| Sundried | 85x | Heatwave or solar flare | Yes, when the weather rolls |
| Aurora | 90x | Aurora borealis weather | Yes, when the weather rolls |
| Shocked | 100x | Lightning strike in a thunderstorm | Yes, the staple |
| Celestial | 120x | Meteor shower | Yes, the best single weather pick |
| Voidtouched | 135x | Black hole event | Event-dependent |
| Dawnbound | 150x | Sun God event | Event-dependent |

| Abyssal | 240x | Voidtouched + Eclipsed on one crop | Event-dependent |
| Astral | 365x | Cosmic + Galactic | No, needs an admin event |
How Do Mutations Stack? The Formula Most Guides Get Wrong
Plenty of calculator sites tell you to multiply every mutation together. The community wiki formula works differently, and it matters the moment a crop carries three or more mutations.
Total multiplier = Variant x (1 + sum of environmental multipliers – number of environmental mutations)
Here, the variant is the crop’s growth type (normal, Gold, or Rainbow). Environmental mutations are everything else: weather, pet effects, sprays, fusions. Each environmental mutation adds its multiplier minus one, so Wet contributes +1 and Shocked contributes +99. The variant then multiplies the whole bracket.
| Crop setup | Math | Result |
| Rainbow + Shocked | 50 x (1 + 100 – 1) | 5,000x |
| Rainbow + Shocked + Celestial | 50 x (1 + 220 – 2) | 10,950x |
| Gold + Wet + Chilled (separate) | 20 x (1 + 4 – 2) | 60x |
| Gold + Frozen (Wet and Chilled fused) | 20 x (1 + 10 – 1) | 200x |
| What a “multiply everything” calculator claims for the Rainbow + Shocked + Celestial crop | 50 x 100 x 120 | 600,000x (wrong) |
With one environmental mutation, both methods agree, which is why the “Rainbow plus Shocked equals 5,000x” example shows up everywhere. The gap only appears with two or more. That’s the difference between a crop worth roughly 11,000x and one a bad calculator says is worth 600,000x.
The Wet and Chilled row shows why fused mutations are worth chasing. Two 2x mutations only add up to 3x on their own, but once they fuse into Frozen the crop jumps to 10x.
Stacking rules that catch people out:
- A crop holds one variant only. Gold and Rainbow cannot coexist.
- Fusions replace their ingredients. Frozen consumes Wet and Chilled; Paradisal consumes Verdant and Sundried.
- Some mutations push others out. Drenched replaces Wet, and Cooked removes Burnt.
- The Butterfly pet can roll Rainbow only on a crop with five or more mutations, and it wipes the existing ones. Run the numbers first. Five mutations such as Shocked, Celestial, Wet, Moonlit and Bloodlit give 1 + 229 – 5 = 225x, which beats a bare 50x Rainbow.
- Crop size is a separate multiplier. Calculator sites model weight as roughly squared, so a heavy crop with modest mutations can still out-earn a small crop with great ones.
The wiki also tracks a theoretical ceiling. As of its last update, the maximum mutation multiplier was listed at 201,050x, built from dozens of different mutations on one Rainbow crop. Treat it as a curiosity: it changes every time a new mutation arrives.
Weather and Environment Mutations (Everyday Farming)
These come from the server-wide weather cycles that roll through every few minutes. They’re the backbone of mutation farming because nobody has to hold a rare pet or a limited item to get them.
| Mutation | Multiplier | Trigger |
| Wet | 2x | Rain and thunderstorms; also sprinklers and a Wet spray |
| Chilled | 2x | Frost weather; Polar Bear pet |
| Windstruck | 2x | Windy or gale weather; Pterodactyl pet |
| Moonlit | 2x | Night, limited to roughly six plants every two minutes |
| Sandy | 3x | Sandstorm |
| Moist | 3x | Gentle drizzle |
| Cracked | 4x | Earthquake; Badger pet |
| Fall | 4x | Fall bloom weather; Grizzly Bear pet |
| Bloodlit | 5x | Blood moon (older guides list 4x); Kappa pet on Wet crops |
| Twisted | 5x | Tornado; Pterodactyl pet |
| Drenched | 5x | Tropical rain, replacing Wet |
| Acidic | 15x | Acid rain |
| Eclipsed | 20x | Solar eclipse |
| Supernatural | 37x | Rare cosmic occurrence; certain pets |
| Riptide | 80x | Storm surge |
| Sundried | 85x | Heatwave or solar flare; a Tanning Mirror redirects it onto chosen crops |
| Aurora | 90x | Aurora borealis |
| Shocked | 100x | Lightning strike in a thunderstorm; Shocked spray |
| Celestial | 120x | Meteor shower |
| Meteoric | 125x | Meteor strike; Lobster Thermidor pet |
| Voidtouched | 135x | Black hole event; Space Squirrel pet |
| Dawnbound | 150x | Sun God event, when four players hold sunflowers in front of it |

The practical pattern: thunderstorms are frequent enough that Shocked is the mutation most farms are built around, and a Lightning Rod near your best crops is how players steer strikes onto them. Meteor showers are rarer but pay 20% more. Both are random, so preparation beats reaction. Have your best multi-harvest plants in the ground before the weather shows up, not after.
Growth Variants: Silver, Gold and Rainbow
Variants sit outside the additive bracket and multiply it, so they are the biggest lever on any crop.
| Variant | Multiplier | How you get it |
| Silver | 5x | Silver fertilizer; Cockatrice and silver Dragonfly pets (limited) |
| Gold | 20x | About 1% natural chance; Dragonfly, Golden Bee and Cockatrice pets; Gold fertilizer; Super Seed |
| Rainbow | 50x | About 0.1% natural chance; Rainbow fertilizer; Super Seed; rainbow weather; Butterfly pet (five or more mutations, wipes them) |
Pet and Gear Mutations: What Applies What
Pets are the most reliable way to get mutations that weather rarely gives you. Pairing the right pets matters more than owning the most expensive one, and the pets tier list is a good place to see which of these abilities are worth building around.
| Pet | Mutations it applies |
| Dragonfly, Golden Bee | Gold (20x) |
| Butterfly | Rainbow (50x), under the five-mutation rule above |
| Cockatrice | Toxic (15x), Gold, Silver |
| Bee family (Bee, Honey Bee, Petal Bee, Queen Bee, Wasp, Tarantula Hawk) | Pollinated (3x) |
| Bear Bee | HoneyGlazed (5x) |
| Polar Bear, Sushi Bear | Chilled (2x), Frozen (10x) |
| Chicken Zombie | Zombified (25x) |
| Scarlet Macaw | Verdant (5x) |
| Hyacinth Macaw | Cloudtouched (5x) |
| Pterodactyl | Windstruck (2x), Twisted (5x), Tempestuous (12x) |
| Raiju | Static (8x) |
| Phoenix | Flaming (25x) |
| Griffin | Cyclonic (50x) |
| Kitsune | Chakra (15x), Foxfire Chakra (90x) |
| Corrupted Kitsune | Corrupt Chakra (15x), Corrupt Foxfire Chakra (90x) |
| Mandrake | Rot (8x) |
| Spriggan | Bloom (8x) |
| Dark Spriggan | Blight (8x) |
| Ghostly Dark Spriggan | Necrotic (8x) |
| Ghost Bear | Spooky (8x) |
| Hex Serpent | Pestilent (8x), Vamp (3x) |
| Trapdoor Spider | Webbed (8x) |
| Raptor | Amber (10x) |
| Cooked Owl | Cooked (10x), Burnt (4x) |
| Gnome | Gnomed (15x) |
| Cheetah | Wildfast (5x) |
| Sheckling | Coin (3x) |
| Spaghetti Sloth | Sauce, Meatball, Pasta (3x each) |
| Golden Goose | Fortune (50x) |
| Luminous Sprite | Luminous (50x) |
| Glimmering Sprite | Glimmering (2x) |
| Mizuchi | Azure (75x) |
| Apple Gazelle | Warped (75x) |
| Hydra | Terran (75x) |
| Swan | Graceful (77x) |
| Woody | Leeched (70x) |
| Glass Dog, Glass Cat | Glossy (30x) |
| Sapphire Marrow | Crystalized (25x) |
| Tanchozuru | Tranquil (20x) |
| Corrupted Kodama | Corrupt (20x) |
| Lobster Thermidor | Molten (25x), Meteoric (125x) |
| Lemon Lion | Brainrot (100x) |
| Rhino | Mirage (25x) |
| Hippo | Monsoon (50x) |
| Fortune Squirrel | Jackpot (15x) |
| Junkbot | Oil (15x) |
| Disco Bee | Disco (125x) |
| Peach Wasp | Plasma (5x) |
| Giraffe | Arid (6x) |
| Tanuki | Moonlit (2x), Chilled (2x), Choc (2x) |
The Golden Goose deserves a mention because Fortune only triggers when you sell a golden egg crop it produced, which makes it more of a trading-value play than a daily farming tool. The weeping branch crop (not a pet) chains Wilted (10x), Withered (20x) and Desolate (50x).
Gear that applies mutations:
- Mutation sprays exist for Wet, Windstruck, Chilled, Pollinated, Verdant, Shocked, Disco, Burnt, Amber, Bloom, Cloudtouched, HoneyGlazed, Choc, Glimmering and Luminous.
- Sprinklers add their own: Honey (HoneyGlazed), Lush (Lush, 3x), Geode (Geode, 5x), Chocolate (Choc), and Flower Froster (Frozen).
- Friendship Pots can produce Friendbound (70x). More pots raise the chance, and the mutation can also appear when you have five connections in a server.
- Fertilizers and the Super Seed push Gold, Silver or Rainbow.
Fused Mutations and Their Recipes
A fusion happens when a crop collects the right ingredient mutations. These are where the highest non-admin multipliers live, so the recipe column is worth bookmarking.

Two notes from comparing sources. Stormcharged is listed at 180x on the most recent list I could verify, but a few sites show 220x, so check the in-game crop tooltip. And Paradisal is 100x now; older guides still quote 18x from before it was reworked.
Event and Limited-Time Mutations
Event mutations come and go. Some return in later seasons with different multipliers, so anything tied to a closed event should be treated as a collectible, not a farming target.

What Is the Best Mutation in Grow a Garden?
It depends on what “best” means to you, so here are the three honest answers.
Highest multiplier overall: Astral at 365x. It needs Galactic, which only appears during an admin space event, so most players will never farm it.
Best you can realistically build: Cosmic and Abyssal, both 240x. Cosmic is a Celestial plus Aurora crop, so it needs two separate weather events to land on the same plant. Abyssal needs Voidtouched and Eclipsed.
Best single mutation from ordinary weather: Celestial at 120x for rarity, Shocked at 100x for consistency. If you’re choosing a mutation to build a farm around, Shocked wins on frequency, and Celestial is the one to be ready for.
For long-term pet projects, the limited chakra chain tops out at Ascended Chakra (230x), but it takes four pet-applied mutations to get there.
How to Get More Mutations Without Wasting Your Best Crops
Mutation farming is mostly about timing and placement.
- Know which mutation each weather event gives. Thunderstorm means Shocked, meteor shower means Celestial, heatwave means Sundried, aurora means Aurora. If you can’t name the trigger, you can’t prepare for it.
- Plant before the weather, not during. Mutations land on crops that are already growing. Multi-harvest plants give you repeated chances on the same plant.
- Place gear deliberately. A Lightning Rod sits near the crops you want struck, and a Tanning Mirror can redirect Sundried onto a specific plant.

- Use pets for the mutations weather rarely gives. Dragonfly for Gold, a Kitsune line for the chakra chain, Polar Bear for Frozen.
- Don’t let a Butterfly overwrite a good crop. See the five-mutation rule above.
- Check the tooltip before selling. Hover over a harvested crop to see exactly which mutations it carries. A fused crop can be worth far more than it looks.
If you’d rather work out what a mutated crop or pet is worth in trades, a value calculator takes the guesswork out.
Crop Mutations vs Pet Mutations: Don’t Mix Them Up
Both systems use the word “mutation,” and mixing them up is a common source of bad advice.

Crop mutations (everything in the tables above) are multipliers on a harvested fruit. They’re temporary to that crop and stack with the formula.
Pet mutations are permanent traits on the animal itself, and they do not stack. A new roll overwrites the old one. The standard Pet Mutation Machine needs an Age 50 pet, charges 500 million Sheckles, and takes 60 minutes. Its pool includes crop-affecting results like Frozen, Windy, Shocked, Aurora and the very rare Ascended. If you’re building around a particular pet effect, the Pet Mutation Machine guide has the odds and the cost in full, and an Ascended pet is worth rolling for only once you can afford a few failed attempts.
Why Do Mutation Lists Disagree? Numbers I Couldn’t Confirm
Mutation data changes with every update, and many sites copy each other. These are the discrepancies I ran into while cross-checking, and how this list handles them.
| Mutation | Disagreement | What this list uses |
| Ghostly | 25x on one major list, 28-30x on several calculator sites | 25x |
| Paradisal | 100x now, 18x on older posts | 100x |
| Bloodlit | 5x on the newest list, 4x on older ones | 5x |
| Stormcharged | 180x vs 220x | 180x |
| Goldsparkle | 500x on a few calculator sites, absent from the lists I trust | Left out |
| Gold | 25x on one calculator, 20x everywhere else | 20x |
If a multiplier looks off, trust the number in your game over any website, this one included. The multipliers here come from a list updated in December 2025 that cites the community wiki, cross-checked against other trackers. New 2026 additions are included where I could confirm them, such as Glimmering from the Fairy Event.
What Is Live Right Now (October 2026)
The Ghoul Garden Halloween update went live on October 17 and is the current event. Its confirmed mutation hook is the Dracuvine, which mutates a nearby fruit with Vamp every five minutes. The Black Cat quest also asks for crops with a “Haunted” mutation, but its multiplier hasn’t been published. The 2025 Halloween set (Spooky, Ghostly, Vamp) may return, and 2026 values are not yet verified.
The Fairy Event and its Glimmering mutation were scheduled to end October 17, so treat Glimmering as unavailable unless it returns. And because another update is scheduled for October 24, check the in-game shop and patch notes for new mutation sources before you plan a farm around anything above.
