The Pumpkin Boss in Steal an Egg is a two-phase co-op fight against the Pumpkin Brute and the Pumpkin King. It sits behind a portal outside the Abandoned Manor, it runs twice an hour at :15 and :45, and every win adds one point to a 65-tier Boss Mastery track.
That is the short version. The long version matters more, because the portal is locked behind a rare fishing drop, the event window is tight, and a few details (boss health, exact attack patterns, drop odds) have not been published yet. This guide separates what is confirmed from what is not, so you do not burn your last hours of the event on a guess.
One quick clarification: if you searched for the “Pumpkin Reaper,” that boss belongs to a different Roblox egg game (Steal Animal Egg). Everything below is about Steal an Egg’s Update 10.
What Is the Pumpkin Boss in Steal an Egg?
The Pumpkin Boss arrived with Update 10: Halloween Part 2, the second half of the Halloween event. Part 1 opened the Halloween Dimension and its three biomes. Part 2 opens the house at the end of it, and the boss portal is the second big reward for getting inside.
Here is what the official patch notes confirm:
- Two phases. The Pumpkin Brute comes first, then the Pumpkin King.
- Built for teamwork. The notes tell players to battle through powerful attacks and work together to take down the King.
- 65 reward tiers. The track includes six new Halloween pets and other exclusive rewards.
- A Divine drop. There is a stated chance at the Divine Pumpkin King, with no odds given.
For the wider picture of the update, our Halloween Part 2 overview covers the dates, the fusion machine, and everything else that shipped alongside the boss.
How Do You Get to the Pumpkin Boss Portal?
You cannot walk up to it on day one. The portal sits just outside the manor, and the manor gate stays chained until you hold a Manor Key. So the real question is how to reach the gate, and the answer is a chain of earlier unlocks:
- Finish Echo’s Memories by returning his four lost items.
- Collect the Haunted Rod from the Ghost Fisherman and clear his underwater minigame for the ticket.
- Ride the Phantom Express to Forgotten Town. It arrives at :00 and :30.
- Jump into the green whirlpool, speak to Gus in the secret fishing area, and fish until the Manor Key drops.
- Leave through the green sewer pipe, walk to the gate, and press E to open it.

Once the gate opens, the Pumpkin Boss portal is reachable from the same spot. Players who finished Part 1 already own the rod and ticket, so they can skip straight to step three. The full walkthrough, including fixes for a key that refuses to drop, lives in our Abandoned Manor guide.
One honest note: no drop rate has been published for the key. Treat it as a patience job, and clear your hotbar first, since fishing here also pulls up eggs and a full hotbar can stall your casts.

When Does the Pumpkin Boss Spawn?
The fight runs twice every hour, at :15 and :45. That is a different rhythm from the train, which arrives at :00 and :30, and it is worth planning around. A smooth loop looks like this:
| Minute of the hour | What happens |
| :00 | Phantom Express arrives |
| :15 | Pumpkin Boss opens |
| :30 | Phantom Express arrives |
| :45 | Pumpkin Boss opens |
If you miss a boss window, the next one is 30 minutes away. Stay near the manor between fights, because the surrounding biome holds some of the rarest secret eggs in the Halloween pool, and you can hatch or fish while you wait.
Pumpkin Boss Rewards: The 65-Tier Boss Mastery Track
Each time you defeat the Pumpkin King, you earn one Mastery Point. Points feed a Boss Mastery pass with 65 unlocks, and these are the headline rewards reported so far:
| Kills | Reward |
| 3 | Bubblelord |
| 10 | Coffin Crawler |
| 17 | Bell Scream |
| 30 | Phantom Banshee |
| 45 | Vespera |
| 52 | Pumpkin Scythe (weapon) |
| 65 | Pumpkin Brute |
That is seven of the 65 tiers. The developers say the full track holds six new Halloween pets plus other exclusive rewards, but the complete list has not been published, so the table above is a partial view. The Divine Pumpkin King sits on top of this as a separate chance, and its odds are unconfirmed.
Can You Actually Reach Tier 65? Do the Math First
Here is the part most guides skip. At two fights an hour, the ceiling is roughly 48 fights per day, and that assumes you catch every single portal. The listed window for Halloween Part 2 runs from October 24 at 15:00 UTC to October 25 at 16:34 UTC, which is about 25 and a half hours (11:00 AM ET to 12:34 PM ET the next day).
Even with perfect attendance, that caps you near 50 kills, and you lose time getting the key first. On those numbers, the Pumpkin Scythe at 52 kills and the Pumpkin Brute at 65 look out of reach unless the developers extend the event or the boss keeps running afterward. Neither has been confirmed.
So the practical advice is simple. Chase the early tiers hard, since the first three or four unlocks are realistic for almost everyone, and do not sacrifice the Manor Key hunt or the fusion for a long boss grind.
How Do You Beat the Pumpkin Brute and Pumpkin King?
This is where I would rather tell you what we do not know than invent a strategy. As of this update, nothing verified describes the bosses’ health, damage, attack patterns, or the recommended pet income. Anyone offering a frame-by-frame guide this early is guessing.

What earlier Steal an Egg boss events suggest, and what you should treat as a reasonable expectation rather than fact:
- Attacks are telegraphed. The Rift event and the Dr. Scramble’s Revenge fight both marked danger zones on the floor, so moving out of marked areas is the safest default.
- Teamwork beats solo play. Past bosses spread attacks and targets across the group, and the Update 10 notes push the same message.
- Mastery is usually flat. Earlier bosses paid one point per kill no matter how many players joined. That likely holds here, but it is unconfirmed.
If you want a read on how the studio designs these encounters, our Mech Boss and Boss Milestone guides cover the earlier fights in detail.
The Best Order to Spend Your Time in Part 2
Sequencing beats grinding when the clock is short:
- Confirm what you own. If you already have the rod and ticket, ride the next train.
- Fish for the Manor Key first. It is the only gated step and the only one with no guaranteed rate.
- Open the gate, then enter the boss portal at the next :15 or :45. Do a first run just to see how the fight behaves.
- Keep rare pets safe. If you hold a Voidseer Pumpkin or Ghost Fish, do not trade or sell them until you have checked the Cursed Monarch fusion recipe on screen.
- Bank your Candy Corn between fights so a bad run does not cost you shop progress.
And ignore any video or site promising a free key, a Pumpkin Boss code, or an instant skip. Steal an Egg has no code system, so those offers are fake.
What Happens After the Event Ends?
Nobody has confirmed whether the Pumpkin Boss, the manor, or the Boss Mastery track returns after the listed window. Earlier events removed their limited eggs when they closed, so do not plan around a rerun. If you are reading this after the window shut, check the in-game notice, and note that details may change if the developers rebalance or bring the fight back.

Permanent items such as the Haunted Rod and the Phantom Express ticket carry over, which makes a future return far less painful if it happens. If you want the full Halloween picture before then, start with the Halloween Dimension guide.
