The Tricky Treat Bag is a new item that arrived with Ghoul Garden Part 2 in Grow a Garden, and here is the straight answer on how to get it: the official patch notes list it under New Items but never say where it comes from. The closest lead is the new Trick or Treat House, where you spend Candy Corn (starting at 10) to knock on a door and take a random reward or a jumpscare.
Treat that house as the first place to look, not a confirmed drop location. Nobody has published the bag’s source, price or effect yet, and I’d rather flag that than invent a number.
Where Does the Tricky Treat Bag Come From?
Here is what holds up and what doesn’t, as of the latest notes.
| Detail | Status | What we know |
| Added in Ghoul Garden Part 2 | Confirmed | Listed under New Items in the patch notes |
| How to obtain it | Not confirmed | The notes give no source |
| Candy Corn or Robux price | Not confirmed | Nothing published |
| What it does | Not confirmed | No effect or tooltip text published |
| Linked to the Trick or Treat House | Unconfirmed lead | Same update, but the bag isn’t named as a house reward |
| Tradeable | Not confirmed | No data |

So why is the house my first lead? The Part 2 notes sell the Trick or Treat House on its pile of new spooky rewards, and the bag shipped in the same patch. That’s a pattern, not proof. The notes never name the bag as a house reward, so it could just as easily sit in a shop, a quest or a pack.
How Does the Trick or Treat House Work?
The mechanic is simple, and it’s the one part of this update with confirmed numbers.
- Stock up on Candy Corn. You need it before you can knock.
- Find the house. It’s a spooky Halloween house in the event area. The wiki lists it as the Trick-or-Treating Platform.
- Knock on the door. The first knock after a reset costs 10 Candy Corn.
- Take the result. You either get a treat (a random reward) or get tricked with a familiar jumpscare.
- Watch the price. Every knock costs more than the last, and the price drops back to 10 every 8 hours.

What nobody has published yet: how fast the price climbs, the reward table, the odds, and whether a jumpscare refunds your Candy Corn. Assume it doesn’t.
There’s also a wording mismatch. The official notes describe a price that resets every eight hours, while the wiki describes an eight-hour cooldown after you get rewarded. If the in-game timer disagrees with either one, trust the timer.
How Much Candy Corn Should You Spend per Knock Session?
The price climbs with every knock and resets to 10 every eight hours, so the cheapest attempts are always the first ones after a reset. That comes straight from the mechanic, not from testing.
Since the climb rate isn’t public, keep each session short. Take a few knocks, check your backpack, and only keep going if something useful turns up. Chasing one item on a rising price is the fastest way to burn through a Candy Corn balance that could have bought seeds or pets instead.
How Do You Earn Enough Candy Corn for Trick or Treating?
You don’t need a new method for this part. The Candy Corn sources from the first half of the Halloween event still apply.
- Sell Halloween plants at the Sinister Sales stand.
- Contribute to Witch’s Brew, the cauldron that returned this year.
- Feed the Black Cat. Three Halloween fruits make one set, and each set pays out a Haunted Seed Pack. That pays in seeds you can plant in your regular garden, not in Candy Corn, so it doesn’t fund the house directly.
Keep your main plot running while you do this. Spare crops from a strong regular garden are what keep the cauldron and the Black Cat fed without hurting your normal income.
One more thing before you spend. The official end date isn’t confirmed, and Candy Corn shouldn’t be assumed to carry over after the event closes. Use it before the event wraps up.
Is the Tricky Treat Bag the Same as the Candy Basket or the Medium Treat?

No, and mixing them up sends people to the wrong guides.
The Candy Basket belongs to Grow a Garden 2. According to the GAG2 wiki, it’s a Legendary gear that costs 2,000,000 Candy Corn, has a 2.17% stock chance, lets you trick or treat on houses with a 75% success rate, and is consumed on use. That’s a different game, a different map and a different item.
The Medium Treat is older and unrelated: a pet XP booster sold in the Gear Shop for 4 million Sheckles. Nothing in the Part 2 notes links it to the bag, so don’t assume the Tricky Treat Bag is a pet item either.
What Else Did Ghoul Garden Part 2 Add?
The bag is a small part of a bigger patch. Here’s the full list from the notes.
| Category | What was added |
| Activity | Trick or Treat House, paid in Candy Corn |
| Halloween weather | Bat Attack and Full Moon, one of the two starting every hour |
| Plants | Gaze Berry, Witch Fingers |
| Pets | Pumpkin Ghoul named, plus at least two more unnamed |
| New items | Tricky Treat Bag, Ghoul Super Seed |
| Cosmetics | Haunted Trading Booth skin, one new Halloween cosmetic |
| Quality of life | Halloween Radars now work in the Ghoul Garden |
The two new weather events matter if you farm for value. Both hand out mutations on fruit inside the Ghoul Garden, but the notes don’t list chances or multipliers. Bat Attack has given the Vamp mutation (3x) in earlier Halloween content, though I wouldn’t assume Part 2 uses the same numbers. To see how this stacks against normal fruit mutations, check the full multiplier list before you plan around it.
On pets, only Pumpkin Ghoul is named in the notes. The community wiki also lists Evil Penguin and Gremlin, but abilities aren’t published. Once they are, the pet tier list is where rankings will change first.
How Can You Find Out Where the Bag Drops Yourself?
If you’re the first person in your server to find the source, here’s a clean way to do it without wasting Candy Corn.
- Open your backpack and note what you hold before you start.
- Make your first knock right after the price resets, when it costs 10.
- Check your backpack again and read any new item’s tooltip.
- Look through the event shops each time they open, since a new item can sit in stock instead of a drop table.
- Compare what you found with the community, because it’s updated faster than most guides.
Screenshot the tooltip if you find the bag. A tooltip is the only reliable way to settle the effect question.
What’s Still Unconfirmed (and Could Change)
- Where the Tricky Treat Bag comes from
- Its price, rarity and whether it can be traded
- What it actually does
- How quickly the Trick or Treat House price rises, and the reward odds
- Whether a jumpscare refunds your Candy Corn
- The official event end date (a community-wiki estimate of November 7 circulated for the event, but it isn’t official)
Patch-dependent details like these change fast in the first days of an update. If the developers rebalance the house or the bag, the in-game numbers win over any guide, this one included. I’ll update this page as soon as a confirmed source appears.
