Steal an Egg’s next patch is titled Mounts Are Coming: Rideable Pets, and it’s listed for Saturday, October 10, 2026. It lands right after that week’s Admin Abuse event, which opens at 8:00 AM PT / 11:00 AM ET / 3:00 PM UTC.
That’s the confirmed part. The title promises rideable pets, but nobody outside the dev team knows yet which pets qualify, how you get a mount, or whether riding changes your Speed. This guide keeps the facts and the guesses in separate piles so you can plan your Saturday without chasing rumors.
When Does the Steal an Egg Mounts Update Come Out?
The mounts patch is Update #8. A community-maintained Admin Abuse schedule lists it for Saturday, October 10, immediately after Admin Abuse #8. I couldn’t find an official Roblox event card with the exact minute yet, so treat the clock time below as the event start, not the patch start.
| Time zone | Admin Abuse starts (Sat, Oct 10) |
| UTC | 3:00 PM |
| US Pacific (PDT) | 8:00 AM |
| US Mountain (MDT) | 9:00 AM |
| US Central (CDT) | 10:00 AM |
| US Eastern (EDT) | 11:00 AM |
| UK (BST) | 4:00 PM |
| Central Europe (CEST) | 5:00 PM |
| India (IST) | 8:30 PM |
| Eastern Australia (AEST) | 1:00 AM, Sunday |
Admin Abuse runs 30 to 60 minutes, and the update goes live after it wraps. Don’t expect it at the exact opening minute. The previous drops have drifted: the Monster Update’s Roblox event listing opened at 11:42 AM ET instead of the usual 11:00 AM ET. If the patch isn’t live when Admin Abuse ends, wait a bit before assuming something broke.
Where Did the Mounts Teaser Come From?
The first hint arrived at the end of the Enchanted Forest event cutscene. After the biome showcase, the game flashed a short teaser that mounts were coming. Creators picked it up within hours, and the schedule listing with the “rideable pets” subtitle followed.

So the sequence is simple: teaser in the cutscene, then a named update on the calendar. No patch notes, no screenshots of the actual feature, no developer breakdown. Everything past the title is still open.
What’s Confirmed and What Isn’t
| Detail | Status |
| Update name: “Mounts are coming: rideable pets” | Listed on a community schedule |
| Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026 | Listed, follows Admin Abuse #8 |
| Teased in the Enchanted Forest cutscene | Confirmed by players who watched it |
| Which pets can be ridden | Not announced |
| How you get a mount (egg, shop, quest) | Not announced |
| Robux price, if any | Not announced |
| Effect on Speed, carry weight or guardians | Not announced |
| New biome, new pets or a new Speed gate | Not announced |
Anything that fills the bottom half of that table before Saturday is a guess. Including mine, below.
Which Pets Could Become Rideable?
Nobody can answer this one honestly yet. The roster does hold animals that look built for a saddle: Pegasus (Eternal) and Skeleton Horse (Eternal) from the Angels and Demons biome, plus Centaur and Stag at Secret rarity.

That’s a design observation, not a leak. The developers could just as easily make mounts a separate item category, with its own shop or egg, that has nothing to do with your Index pets. Wait for the patch before you sell or fuse anything on a hunch.
Will Mounts Change How Speed Works?
Possibly, and this is where the update could matter most. Speed sits at the center of the whole game. It decides which biome you can enter, whether you outrun the guardian, and how well you carry a heavy egg back to base. The deepest gate right now is 50B Speed for the Enchanted Forest.
A feature called “mounts” in a game built on running naturally touches that loop. It might be cosmetic. It might add a movement boost, change carry capacity or open a shortcut around the treadmill grind. Each option is plausible, and none is confirmed. If riding does turn out to boost Speed, expect the Index and treadmill meta to shift fast.
Is Steal an Egg Copying Ride A Pet?
Some creators framed the mounts teaser as a response to Ride A Pet, a separate Roblox game from a different developer where you hatch rideable pets and ride them to hunt map eggs. The comparison is fair as a talking point. It’s still speculation, since the Steal an Egg team hasn’t said what inspired the feature.
One warning while you search: Break and Steal an Egg is another game entirely, with its own update scheduled for October 11 at 12:00 PM UTC. Its release time has nothing to do with Steal an Egg’s mounts patch.
How to Get Ready Before Saturday
Mounts or not, Admin Abuse is the best window of the week to bank progress. Here’s what actually helps:
- Claim the free 10,000 Speed. Like the game, favorite it and join the community group if you haven’t.
- Push your treadmill Speed and equip the best trail you can afford before the event opens.
- Clear pen space. Your base caps how many pets you can hold, so sell or fuse low earners now.
- Stockpile unhatched eggs from the best biome you can reach. Unhatched eggs can still take a mutation or an event boost.
- Join 15 to 20 minutes early. Servers cap at seven players and fill quickly on update days.
- Hit “Notify Me” on the game’s Roblox event listing so you get pinged when it goes live.
Where Mounts Fit in the Weekly Update Run
Steal an Egg has shipped a major drop almost every Saturday since its July 25, 2026 launch. Here’s how Update #8 slots into the run, based on the full history of Steal an Egg updates tracked so far.
| Update | Date | Headline content |
| #1 | Aug 22 | Cherry Blossom biome |
| #2 | Aug 29 | Titan Temple biome, Monster Egg |
| #3 | Sep 5 | Rift event boss loop |
| #4 | Sep 12 | Angels and Demons biome |
| #5 | Sep 19 | Sammy Is Coming |
| #6 | Sep 26 | Dr. Scramble’s Revenge |
| #7 | Oct 3 | Enchanted Forest |
| #8 | Oct 10 | Mounts: rideable pets (listed) |
Seven Saturdays in a row at nearly the same hour is a strong pattern. It isn’t a promise, though. The developers haven’t published a permanent schedule, so the Roblox event listing is the only reliable confirmation for any given week.
What to Watch for on Saturday
When the update drops, check three things first: the in-game announcement, any new item in the shop, and whether your pets show a new “ride” prompt. This page will be updated as soon as the patch notes confirm how mounts work.
