Steal an Egg Dog’s Lost Things: All 4 Locations (Echo)

The four dog’s lost things in Steal an Egg are Echo’s Favorite Toy, Chewed Bone, Old Collar and Old Photograph. All four sit inside the Corrupted Realm, the spooky area you reach through the portal at spawn. The toy is by the pumpkin house next to Echo, the bone is on the riverbank by the Phantom Express station, the collar is just past that station, and the photograph is tucked behind a rock at the Abandoned Manor gate. Bring all four back to Echo and his quest moves on to the Haunted Rod and, eventually, the Phantom Express Ticket.

This quest is the first step of the Steal an Egg Halloween Dimension event, so it’s worth doing early.

The items are laid out so you can grab them in a single loop, in the order above. Collect all four before you talk to Echo again, because handing them in one by one just costs you extra walking.

How Do You Find Echo and Start the Quest?

Enter the portal beside the Trails Shop and look to the left side of the spawn area. Echo, a ghost dog, waits near three mausoleums, in front of a house with a cauldron and a bone prop. Talk to him and Echo’s Memories begins.

If you can’t spot him, check that you’re really inside the Corrupted Realm and not back at your normal base. Rejoining a fresh server also fixes most “missing NPC” problems after a big update.

The Best Route to Collect All Four Items

1. Favorite Toy: the white rabbit by the pumpkin house

Start where you are. Walk straight ahead from Echo toward the closest pumpkin house and look at the ground in front of it. The toy is a small white rabbit, and some players call it the plushie or Mr. Squeaky. It sits beside or behind the pumpkin rather than on top of it. Walk up and press E to pick it up.

2. Chewed Bone: the riverbank rocks near the station

Head toward the Phantom Express station in the swamp and scan the ground, not the buildings. The bone lies right next to a rock formation by the riverbank, in the marshy clearing in front of the station. Of the four items, this is the one most players struggle with, since it blends into the dirt.

3. Old Collar: past the station, beside a tree

Keep walking past the station. The collar is on the ground next to a large tree, close to the old tracks. Some players describe it as being at the far end of the platform, so if it isn’t by the tree, check the railway side.

4. Old Photograph: the Abandoned Manor gate

The last stop is the manor entrance, which is the darkest part of the map. Look to the left of the gate for two pumpkins and a rock formation. The photograph is behind the rock, close to the glowing crystals and a cage. It won’t be on the gate itself, so walk around the back of the rocks.

What If You Can’t Find an Item?

A few quick fixes cover almost every case:

• Look at the ground. The toy, bone and collar are all small objects on the floor.
• Check behind things. The photograph hides behind a rock, and the toy sits beside its pumpkin.
• Pick up with E. Walk right up to the item and press the interact key.
• Don’t leave one for later. Quest progress only moves on once Echo has all four.
• Rejoin the server if an item has clearly vanished or Echo has stopped responding.

What Happens After You Return All Four Items?

Walk back to Echo and hand everything over. A short cutscene plays, and Echo leads you to the Ghost Fisherman in the Haunted Swamp, who gives you the Haunted Rod. The second part of the quest is a fishing challenge with a sea-mine section, and finishing it rewards the Phantom Express Ticket.

That ticket lets you ride the train that comes every 30 minutes, which is where the Spectral Mutation is earned.

Where Do Guides Disagree?

This is a brand new quest and there’s no official map, so a few details differ between players:

• Item names. The white rabbit is called the Favorite Toy, plushie, stuffed bunny or Mr. Squeaky depending on who you ask. It’s the same item.
• The collar’s exact spot. It’s reported beside a tree past the station and at the end of the platform. Check both.
• Echo’s position. Most reports put him near the spawn graveyard, while a few place him closer to the swamp.
• Server differences. Item placement can look slightly different from one server to the next, so use the landmarks as a search area and not an exact pin.
