Grow a Garden Ghoul Garden is the 2026 Halloween update, and it went live on Saturday, October 17 at 8:30 PM UTC (4:30 PM Eastern, 1:30 PM Pacific). It adds a dedicated event garden you equip, plus a new event currency called Candy Corn.
The idea is simple. You grow spooky crops in the Ghoul Garden, sell them to earn Candy Corn, then spend it on Halloween seeds, pets and cosmetics. A returning Witch’s Brew cauldron and a new Black Cat fetch quest give you two more ways to earn.
The update just dropped, so some details are still thin. Anything I can’t confirm is flagged below, so you know what’s solid and what’s a placeholder.
When Did the Ghoul Garden Update Start, and When Does It End?
The Ghoul Garden event started with the October 17 update. The usual Admin Abuse session ran from around 8:00 PM UTC beforehand, but it’s separate from the event. Missing it costs you nothing.
| Detail | What we know |
| Start | Saturday, October 17, 2026, 8:30 PM UTC |
| Currency | Candy Corn |
| End date | Listed as November 7 on the community wiki, not officially announced |
| Next scheduled update | Saturday, October 24, 8:30 PM UTC |
Treat November 7 as a working estimate. The developers haven’t published an official countdown at the time of writing, and last year’s Halloween event ran for a shorter window. If a limited-time item shows its own timer in game, trust that timer over any website, this one included.
As of this update, the safe plan is to spend your Candy Corn well before the end of the month instead of assuming it carries over.
How Does the Ghoul Garden Work?
The Ghoul Garden is a separate event garden you equip, similar to the special gardens from earlier seasonal updates. It’s where your Halloween plants live.
The loop looks like this:
- Buy Halloween seeds at the Scary Seeds Shop using Candy Corn.
- Plant them in your Ghoul Garden and wait for them to grow.
- Harvest and sell the crops at the Sinister Sales stand to earn more Candy Corn.
- Reinvest in better seeds, pets or cosmetics.
That’s a compounding seed-to-currency loop. Cheap seeds early pay for pricier ones later, so the order you buy in matters more than the total you earn.

One rule catches people out. Seeds bought from the Scary Seeds Shop can only be planted in the Ghoul Garden. They won’t grow in your main plot.
Candy Corn in Ghoul Garden: Where It Comes From and Where It Goes
According to the patch notes, you earn Candy Corn in three ways:
- Selling Halloween plants at the Sinister Sales stand
- Witch’s Brew contributions
- A Trick or Treat activity at the same stand (the notes for this one are cut off in the version I could read, so check the in-game prompt)
You spend it at three stalls:
| Stall | Sells |
| Scary Seeds Shop | Halloween seeds |
| Frightening Fauna | Halloween pets |
| Demonic Decor | Halloween cosmetics |
Last year’s Ghoul Garden also had a Jack-o-Lantern NPC that paid out Candy Corn on a timer. The 2026 notes don’t mention it, so don’t build your routine around it. If it shows up, treat it as a bonus.
What Is the Black Cat Quest, and How Do You Get a Haunted Seed Pack?
This is the most useful new mechanic for players who don’t want to grind the shop.
The Black Cat wants Halloween fruit. You hand over three fruits to complete one set, and every completed set rewards you with a Haunted Seed Pack. Each pack has nine possible seeds inside.
Here’s the part that matters. Seeds from a Haunted Seed Pack can be planted in your regular garden, not just the Ghoul Garden. That makes the pack the only route I can confirm for getting event crops into your main plot.
There’s a catch in the community wiki notes. Crops with “Halloween” at the start of their name can’t go in the main garden, while Halloween crops without that prefix can be planted there but can’t be used on the Event Islands. The wiki is still a stub, so check each seed’s tooltip before you count on it.
Witch’s Brew Returns: How the Cauldron Works
The Witch’s Brew cauldron is back, and the patch notes say it now offers new seeds, pets and other rewards.
The wiki describes it like this: you fill the cauldron on the event island with Halloween fruit, and higher-tier fruit gives more points. Once it fills, it goes on a two-minute cooldown before anyone can add more.

The reward tables list a Spooky Egg and Pumpkin Crate, plus a Haunted Egg and Haunted Crate for top contributors, but every drop chance still reads “TBA.” I’d ignore any site quoting exact Witch’s Brew percentages this early, because nobody has had time to gather real data.
All Nine Ghoul Garden Seeds
The wiki lists nine seeds tied to the event, and the Haunted Seed Pack’s nine possible seeds match that count. Here they are:
| Seed | Where to get it |
| Candy Corn Carrot | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Spider Shrub | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Pumpkin Lantern | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Candy Cluster | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Witch’s Broom | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Webberry | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Blood Kiwi | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Fang Root | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
| Haunted Hallow | Scary Seeds Shop / Haunted Seed Pack |
The Haunted Hallow is the headline crop. It’s a prismatic plant listed at 50,000 Candy Corn, 1,299 Robux or 1,299 Trade Tokens.

I couldn’t verify rarity, growth time or sell value for the other eight. Those numbers will shift as players test them, so check the in-game shop rather than trusting any table that already shows exact prices.
Ghoul Garden Pets, Gear and Cosmetics
New Halloween pets come from the Frightening Fauna stall and from the Haunted Egg, which holds four possible pets according to the patch notes. A Halloween Gear Box 2026 is also part of the update.
The wiki lists seven pets for the event:
- Grave Crab
- Frankenstein’s Bear
- Eyeball Monster
- Skull Snail
- Lantern Wisp
- Gargoyle
- Haunted Knight
Notice the math. Four pets come out of the egg, but seven are listed. The other three likely come from the shop or another source, though that’s my reading, not a confirmed fact. Abilities and hatch odds haven’t been published yet.
Cosmetics from Demonic Decor are purely visual, so they belong at the bottom of your shopping list.
What Should You Do First in the Ghoul Garden?
Learn the systems before you spend anything.
- Equip the Ghoul Garden and open every menu: Scary Seeds Shop, Frightening Fauna, Demonic Decor and Sinister Sales.
- Buy the cheapest seeds first and get the sell-for-Candy-Corn loop running.
- Start collecting Halloween fruit for Black Cat sets in parallel.
- Hold your Candy Corn until you’ve checked live prices and stock.
Keep your regular garden running through all of this. A strong main plot gives you spare crops to feed the Witch’s Brew without sacrificing normal income.
If you just finished the Fairy Event, remember that Fairy Points and Wishing Well tiers belong to that event. Candy Corn is a separate pool, so nothing carries over.
What’s Still Unconfirmed (and Could Change)
Because this is day one, several things are open:
- The official end date and whether Candy Corn expires with the event
- Drop chances for Witch’s Brew, Haunted Eggs and Haunted Crates
- Pet abilities and which of the seven pets come from which source
- Seed prices, rarities and sell values beyond the Haunted Hallow
- Whether a Part 2 follows on October 24 with more plants, pets and shop stock
Last year’s Ghoul Garden did get a second part with extra seeds and pets, so a follow-up wouldn’t be surprising. That’s a pattern, not a promise.
