The Grow a Garden Fall Finale update wraps up the autumn run with a Fall Market Collection, a Shady Scarecrow NPC that eats your spare seeds, two new plants (Maple Melt and Rosy Root), two new pets (Scarecrow and Scarf Crow), and a Fall Shovel skin you unlock at 80% collection progress. It also adds an open all crates button, a Harvest Moon travelling merchant, and new Admin Weather.
If you only have a minute: finish the Collection for the shovel, feed the Scarecrow your junk seeds instead of your good ones, and don’t spend Robux on anything until you’ve read the odds below.
What Is New in the Grow a Garden Fall Finale Update?
Fall Finale is the third beat of this year’s Fall Market run. The event opened on September 19, 2026, and Fall Market Part 2 followed a week later. The patch notes were published on October 4, 2026, which fits the game’s usual Saturday update cadence.
| Addition | What it is |
| Fall Market Collection | A collection tracker; 80% completion unlocks the Fall Shovel skin |
| Shady Scarecrow | NPC that consumes any seed and returns one random reward |
| Maple Melt, Rosy Root | The two new plants |
| Scarecrow, Scarf Crow | The two new pets |
| Open all crates | Quality-of-life feature for crate opening |
| Harvest Moon travelling merchant | New merchant, exact stock not confirmed |
| Admin Weather, visual polish | New weather event plus cleaner pick-up-all effects |
| Season Pass XP indicator | Flags that Season Pass XP is currently nerfed |
The notes also list fixes for the Wasp Dungeon, plants, pets, data issues, and general performance.
How the Shady Scarecrow Turns Spare Seeds Into Rewards
You hand the Shady Scarecrow any seed. It plants it, then spits out one random reward. After each submission there is a 10-minute cooldown, so the ceiling is roughly six submissions an hour. That cap matters more than the reward table, because it means you can’t brute-force the pool by dumping a whole inventory at once.

Do rarer seeds give better rewards? Yes. Better seeds and seed variants improve your odds. The practical takeaway: don’t burn a seed you’d plant yourself, but one with a strong variant is a fair gamble when it’s sitting unused in your backpack.
The community wiki lists these base chances:
| Reward | Base chance |
| Rosy Root Seed | 35.5% |
| Scarecrow (pet) | 0.3% |
| Maple Melt Seed | 0.1% |
Other listed rewards include Autumn Eggs, Autumn Seed Packs, and a Carved Swingseat, but the wiki doesn’t show clean percentages for them. Treat the table as a wiki snapshot, not a guarantee, because wikis get edited and Jandel’s team can rebalance drop rates.
Fall Market Collection: What 80% Actually Takes
The Fall Shovel is a shovel skin tied to this event. You claim it once the Collection hits 80% completion; you don’t need all of it. The wiki shows the tracker covers seeds and pets, among them Scarf Crow, Chipmunk, Red Squirrel, Swan, Red Panda, Skunk, Llama, and Scarecrow. I couldn’t confirm what the third category contains, so check the in-game menu for your exact list.
Two things make this slower than it looks. Pets in the Collection need to actually be obtained, and seeds like Maple Resin sit behind big Sheckle prices in the event stalls. Our Fall Market 2026 guide covers the stall seeds, which helps you plan the cheap entries first and leave the expensive ones for last. Redeeming any working codes before you start also takes some pressure off an early Sheckle budget.
Scarf Crow vs. Scarecrow: Two New Pets, Two Different Routes
Scarf Crow is the purchasable one. The wiki lists it in the Fall Festival pet stall for 100,000,000 Sheckles or 299 Robux, with a 50% chance of being in stock on any restock. You can earn it for free if you’re patient, though 100 million is a serious number mid-game.
Scarecrow comes from the Shady Scarecrow at a 0.3% base chance, so it’s a lottery pull rather than something you can plan around.
One warning to avoid wasted time: Grow a Garden 2 also has a Scarecrow pet, a mythic with a theft-lock ability. That is a different game with a different pet. I couldn’t find a confirmed ability for the original game’s Scarecrow, so don’t assume it copies the GAG2 version until the community documents it.
Maple Melt and Rosy Root: Are the New Plants Worth Chasing?
Both plants only enter the pool through the Shady Scarecrow in the data I found, which defines how you should treat them.
Rosy Root is the easy one. At 35.5% base chance, you’ll see it constantly, and it fills a Collection slot without much effort.

Maple Melt is the rare one at 0.1%. Because the Scarecrow cooldown limits you to about six tries an hour, expect it to take long sessions, not a quick sitting. Exact growth time, sell value, and multi-harvest behavior for both plants weren’t confirmed in the sources I checked, so hold off on declaring either one a money crop.
Small Changes That Matter: Open All Crates, Harvest Moon Merchant and Admin Weather
The open all crates feature is the change you’ll feel immediately, especially with the Autumn Crate and Autumn Seed Pack loops from earlier in the event.
The Harvest Moon travelling merchant is new, but its stock and spawn timing haven’t been confirmed. Existing travelling merchants in the game appear on a rotating timer for a limited window, so keep an eye on the shop area rather than assuming this one behaves identically.
On Season Pass XP, the patch notes include a line about the nerf and when it returns to normal. Check the in-game indicator before grinding quests for pass progress.
When Does the Fall Finale End?
I found no official end date in the sources I checked. Event windows in this game tend to be announced in-game or on Discord, and they can change. Plan around the in-game timer, and finish your Collection early. If you want the bigger picture of how these windows usually run, the Grow a Garden events timeline is a useful reference.
