The Steal an Egg Extinction Egg is a limited Robux egg that arrived with Dr. Scramble’s Revenge (Update 6) on September 26, 2026. One egg costs 99 Robux, hatches one of six extinct animals, and carries a small chance to reroll into a Skeletal version. The headline pet is the Divine Sabertooth at $5B/s, and its Skeletal form pays about $9B/s, the highest base income in the game right now.
The Featured listing runs through October 10, 2026. Short verdict: a few pulls make sense if you want a Gigantus or a regular Sabertooth, but chasing the Skeletal Sabertooth is a long-odds lottery.
Extinction Egg at a Glance
| Detail | What we know |
| Where to buy | Shop → Featured section |
| Currency | Robux only |
| Starting price | 99 Robux per egg |
| Pet pool | 6 extinct animals, Legendary to Divine |
| Skeletal reroll | Reported ~1% chance |
| Top pet | Sabertooth (Divine, $5B/s); Skeletal Sabertooth ($9B/s) |
| Limited sale ends | October 10, 2026 |
The egg sits apart from the free systems in this update. You don’t need a boss win or a Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory submission to buy it, and it doesn’t give you progress toward either.
Where Do You Buy the Extinction Egg, and What Does It Cost?
Open the Shop and head to the Featured panel. The bundles scale down in price per egg, though only the 50-pack really moves the needle.
| Bundle | Robux price | Cost per egg |
| 1 Extinction Egg | 99 | 99 |
| 3 Extinction Eggs | 249 | 83 |
| 10 Extinction Eggs | 799 | 80 |
| 50 Extinction Eggs | 3,499 | 70 |
Buying 50 singles would run 4,950 Robux, so the big pack saves roughly 29%. That only helps if you actually plan to open 50 eggs. Check the in-game panel before paying, because limited-sale pricing can change.
No code unlocks this egg. Any video promising a free Skeletal Sabertooth code is bait.
All Six Extinction Egg Pets and Their Hatch Odds
Each hatch rolls one of six extinct animals. The odds below are the community-tracked figures, and they lean heavily toward the bottom of the pool.
| Pet | Rarity | Base income | Hatch chance | Skeletal income |
| Glyptodon | Legendary | $22.5K/s | 39% | $550M/s |
| Terrorbird | Mythic | $110K/s | 24% | $750M/s |
| Giant Sloth | Cosmic | $4M/s* | 18% | $900M/s |
| Dunkleosteus | Secret | $300M/s* | 11% | $2.5B/s |
| Gigantus | Eternal | $1B/s | 6.5% | $4B/s |
| Sabertooth | Divine | $5B/s | 0.5% | $9B/s |
*Giant Sloth and Dunkleosteus incomes are listed inconsistently across community trackers. Confirm both in your in-game Index before you plan around them.
Income here is at base size. Pet size and mutation multipliers stack on top, so your actual hatch can earn more than the table shows.
Notice the shape of that table. Legendary and Mythic pets together make up 63% of hatches. Odds of landing a Divine are one in two hundred.
How the Skeletal Reroll Works (and Why It Matters More Than the Base Pool)
After the normal hatch, there’s a small chance, reported at about 1%, to reroll into the Skeletal version of that same animal. You can’t buy a Skeletal pet directly.

The jump is enormous on the weak end. A Skeletal Glyptodon pays around $550M/s against roughly $22.5K/s for the regular one, which is a leap of more than 20,000 times. That puts a Legendary-tagged pet within sight of an Eternal like Gorilla King at $880M/s.
The reroll’s value shrinks as the base pet gets better. Skeletal Gigantus quadruples its base income, and Skeletal Sabertooth only improves on the regular one by about 1.8 times. So the skeletal system rewards a bad roll more than a good one, which is a quirk worth remembering when you’re deciding how many eggs to buy.
What Are the Real Odds of Pulling a Sabertooth?
Let’s run the numbers using the reported 0.5% Sabertooth chance and the best bundle price. These are calculations from community-tracked odds, not confirmed developer figures.
| Eggs opened | Robux (best bundle mix) | Chance of at least one Sabertooth | Chance of at least one Skeletal (any pet) |
| 10 | 799 | 4.9% | 9.6% |
| 50 | 3,499 | 22% | 39% |
| 100 | 6,998 | 39% | 63% |
| 200 | 13,996 | 63% | 87% |
The Skeletal Sabertooth is where the math gets ugly. If the 1% reroll applies after the normal hatch, you need both a 0.5% Sabertooth and a 1% reroll. That’s about 1 in 20,000 eggs, or roughly 1.4 million Robux at the 50-pack rate. Treat it as a jackpot, never a plan.

The more realistic prize is Gigantus. At 6.5%, a 10-egg bundle gives you around a 49% chance of seeing at least one $1B/s Eternal.
Can You Get a Top-Tier Pet Without Spending Robux?
You can get close. The same update added free routes, and both are slower than a credit card but cost nothing.
| Route | Cost | Top reward |
| Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory | Eggs you steal, no Robux | Octophant (Divine, $4B/s) |
| Boss Mastery track | Free, 100 boss kills | Pink Dragon Experiment #010 (Eternal) |
The Lab’s pity bar fills to 100 points and then guarantees the banner’s top reward. The Mech boss portal opens about every 30 minutes and gives one Boss Mastery point per win, so the full track takes a long time. Even older Samples-shop pets are modest by comparison, since a Secret like Experiment #001 earns $285M/s.

Octophant at $4B/s sits just under the regular Sabertooth, and you reach it without paying anything. That’s the honest benchmark for the Extinction Egg: it needs to beat a free route, not an empty base.
How Long Is the Extinction Egg Available?
The Featured listing is on limited sale through October 10, 2026, well after the story’s one-day event window on September 26–27 ended. No return date has been announced, and the Luminous Egg held this Shop slot until Update 6 arrived, so rotation is the likely pattern.
If you want one, don’t wait for a restock. Follow the Steal an Egg updates for the next shop change, since the old Rift machine disappeared the same way once the Lab replaced it. Details on that older system are in the Rift Event guide.
Is the Extinction Egg Worth Your Robux?
It depends on what you’re buying.
- Index collectors: a 10-pack at 799 Robux gives a reasonable shot at filling several slots, including a roughly 49% shot at Gigantus.
- Income-focused players: the base pool pays off only at the top. About 63% of hatches land Legendary or Mythic, which won’t move a late-game base.
- Free-to-play players: skip it. The Lab and boss track reach similar income without Robux.
- Skeletal Sabertooth hunters: be ready for heavy variance and set a hard Robux cap first.
What to Check Before You Tap Buy
- Look at the Featured timer and confirm the sale hasn’t ended.
- Compare bundle prices in-game, since they may differ from the figures above.
- Check the Index for the current Giant Sloth and Dunkleosteus incomes.
- Decide your spending limit before the first hatch, not after a bad streak.
Open one egg, see where the pool lands, then decide whether a bigger pack makes sense. The base Sabertooth is a strong floor for a Robux egg. The Skeletal version is a bonus, never something to build a budget around.
